    Default Best BI mod?

I am just wondering if you guys have any suggestions regarding good mods for BI. I would like to try one that is historically accurate and is challenging.

    Thanks

Sorry, I'm not too interested in BI mods. I've heard Goth's mod is good though, and RTR's next version is going to be for BI. I think Blue Lotus might be made for BI as well, so that's three great mods (at least I think they're all BI).

I really like Goth's mod. It does not change things too radically from BI - the combat stats, the strategic situation etc - but improves the unit line-ups: there's more variety, more historical and better looking units. It's also very stable and has some tweaks to make it more challenging for some factions (the Vandals and Huns are separated and more likely to quickly descend on the Romans).

Thanks, I thought Rome Total Realism was dead... is it true they are making another version for BI?

Yes, RTR 7.0 will be for BI. There is also RTR Platinum, which is ports RTR 6.0 Gold over to 1.5.

Some released BI mods which have been posted on the Org (in roughly reverse chronological order). There's no such thing as a best mod overall, there's only maybe a best mod for you, so my advice would be to try a few out that catch your interest - use the Mod Enabler (JSGME) to make life easier (link in sig):

    For BI 1.6

    Year Jump mod
Allows you to 'autopilot' to a later date in the campaign

    INVASIO BARBARORUM-FLAGELLUM DEI V5.0
The latest version of this BI mod started by Atilla Reloaded

    Romano-British 1.0
Another mod that puts the Romano-British on the map at the start of the game and makes them playable

    GrimMod beta

A gameplay/graphics mod including a variety of features: the White Huns & Moors, 0 turn recruitment, lower recruitment costs, no peasants, 4 turns, new skins and increased AI strategic resistance.

    IceTorque’s WarMap
A greatly enlarged map, new starting positions and all factions starting the game

Make all factions playable for BI
Allowing you to play as all factions, including emergent, at the times and with the troops in vanilla

    For BI 1.4

BI Extra Hordes and Unlocked Playable Factions Mod v1.3 by professorspatula

Revisio Cartae Geographicae by Seleucos I Nicator
An improved map for BI from the renowned Seleukos.

Pax Brittania v2 by King of Atlantis
An expansion to Borsook's mod with adjustments and skins for the Brits
