This game combining citybuilding and politics interests me. There are other games like Civcity Rome, Glory of the Roman Empire (out 1 week after Heart of Empire Rome) and Caesar IV. However, will be out first. It is a Deep Red game in the Tycoon series so it should be reliable. As I commented in another forum where I posted on this game, there seems little information out on it. It is out in 36 days in Europe.

Edit: I have not noticed a hippodrome. The colosseum seems to be in the place of the largest one, the Circus Maximus though that may be due to it being a particular scenario with its attendant restriction. Still the Circus Maximus should be in the game. Gaius Julius Caesar provided the first permanent stone structures for that ancient chariot race track.

Looks very nice, reminds me very much of the Caeser series.

    Thanks for the link.

I don't know which one to buy, what with all the new Rome city-building games.

However, I'm thinking that Caesar IV and this are on the top of the list.

    Taurus,

    You're welcome.

    The Wizard,

I will likely buy it when comes out on 9 June. I will post my views, which might help to judge you whether it is worthwhile or rubbish.

Referring to the first post of mine: there is a hippodrome. It works like the colosseum with teams or individuals that the player sponsors. The very first screenshot showed a hippodrome, so I should have known.

Guys, CivCity Rome is the one to buy. It is coming from the same lead developer as Caeser I, II and III! Firaxis has also never made a bad game yet, they have never let me down. It will have better features (you will be able to actually look inside rooms and houses!) and generally be more fun to play.

CivCity has a big 2 page article in the Romanian LEVEL magazine. It looks really good.
