Most multiplayers play RTW/BI, but the better game is MTW/VI especially if you use one of the popular mods such as NTW, DUX or STWmod. There are usually 60+ players on weekends, but they are divided among MTW, VI, NTW, DUX and STWmod. DUX and STWmod are usually arranged via MSN, but STWmod is attempting to have regular one day events on Sundays at 18:00 gmt. STWmod also has an SP campaign which is about to get a major SP update, and MTW/VI has Medmod which is a very good SP campaign mod, and several other mods for SP which I haven't tried. MTW/VI is required to play these mods, but you can get it for $20 usd. RTW/BI will set you back $60 usd, and its multiplayer is the most frustrating experience you can imagine. Players are using an ungodly number of rule sets in an attempt to smooth out the marked imbalances in the game. If you like rush type gameplay get RTW/BI.

MTW/VI is good, With or Without the Mods (I don't do the mods and it quite good) and RTW/BI got the most people though..

Ok I finally got shogun working (i think!!!)

I un installed cleaned the registry installed the 1.12 patch and i can now play the single player mode!

My question is now should i install Warlord edition or Mongol Inv or both to play multiplayer which is prefered in the community or am i wasting my time and just buy Rome or medievil i have sat here for 7 hrs!!!! just to get it working again. And if i install them will it mess it all up again?!?!?!?

How good is your PC setup ?
Do you really need to get one now or could you wait for MTW2 (in about 5 months)
