the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed.
This is why we need the 2nd ammendment, so we can clear the street infront of our houses more easily.

"into Darfur" and 'UN hands off Iran'.

    That makes sense.

The poorest man may in his cottage bid defiance to all the forces of the Crown. It may be frail; its roof may shake; the wind may blow through it; the storm may enter; the rain may enter; but the King of England cannot enter – all his force dares not cross the threshold of the ruined tenement! - William Pitt the Elder

Why does this kind of rhetoric always come from the same people over and over again?

Hay not to go OT but we DO need guns.

An armed person is a citizen, an unarmed person is a subject

I do not want to go ot so that is all I will say about it. But if you start a gun control thread I will be there thats an issue I actually know a lot about

i agree - i hate these sorts of protests. they're impotent and all they do is affirm that those in power are safe to remain in power because that's as much resistence from citizens as they're going to get. these silly little american demonstrations wrap up by mid afternoon and then everybody goes back to shopping and forgets all about it.

now france knows how to have protests.

With US gun culture, a France-style protest would probably result in a civil war...

That said, despite all your guns, the French government probably fears the people more than the US government, and isn't that kind of the point ?

Yes, but they have them over silly things...
I remember that there wasone in July back in '89, all because some woman told them to eat more cake...

They really do protest over the silliest things in France... "ooh, I dropped my croissant and the evil capitalist bourgeoisie cafe owner won't give me a replacement. Let us all march down the Champs Elysee and storm the Luxembourg Palace, or the Louvre Palace, or wherever we mighty French place our aristocratic Prime Ministers these days!"
It was not theirs to reason why,
It was not theirs to make reply,
It was theirs but to do or die.
