Cool Full Transcript of Mike Brown's Katrina Emails

I don't really have a comment on this, but I thought the Org might enjoy a quick skim over FEMA director Mike Brown's 928 pages of emails from August 26 - September 8, i.e., from just before to just after Katrina.

Not sure if I'm going to read them myself. Oh, who am I kidding, I'm a sucker for original documents, so much more interesting than the boiled-down pap we get spoon-fed by the media.

Maybe we should form a little reading club, you know, read thrity or forty emails at a time and discuss them. Like a book club, but funnier and more depressing. Enjoy.

Scarrier still, FEMA this week announced is leaving the Katrina disaster area. FEMA (and Homeland Security) reps said, "We have done all that is necessary and nothing more is needed".

Hmmmm, wonder if the +200,000 (to 500,000 in entire areas, Mississippi, Alabama, included) displaced people believe the job is done?

Or here's an idea: Let's establish state and local governments and introduce a system called federalism. Wait, no, that's too radical .

Reinvent the British and you get a global finance center, edible food and better service. Reinvent the French and you may just get more Germans.
