Default I have a big install problem

I would really appreciate any help.

I installed both the mod and the patch. The initial startup screen that says "Europa Barbarorum" starts, but then it crashes and gives me a message which says

    "data/descr_event_images.txt line 623 column 1
    faction_defeated_by_player"

It says something about an unexecutable file or script. Has anyone else run into this problem? What can I do about it?

Try installing 0.7.2 and then the latest. I used to have problems installation when I tried using the latest over the 0.7.3.

Any problem that will not let you load the game at first is indicative of a bad install of RTW, 1.2, or EB. The event image and script messages are known errors when you have a bad install. In order to get around them, we have to ask you to go back to the beginning and take very, very detailed steps.

Please follow the steps outlined in this post exactly, and confirm each step for me. For instance, are you absolutely positive that you have the 1.0 version of RTW, and not a CD that has a later version?

After each step there are tests you can do to ensure they worked properly. Such as finding the version screen after the RTW install, and making sure it is version 1.0. Then starting a campaign, and seeing if it works. Then checking the same things after installing the RTW 1.2 patch.

I will move this to our technical support area for greater visibility.
