Default 'Total War Eras' - Alexander on disc?

Sorry if this is old news, but Sega are releasing a box set called 'Total War Eras Collection' on June 23rd which will feature every game in the series, a soundtrack (though its not listed on Amazon) plus bonus material:

    Amazon UK link

    Here's the blurb:

    * The pack contains:
    * Shogun: Total War with Mongol Invasion Expansion Pack
    * Medieval: Total War with Viking Invasion Expansion Pack
    * Rome: Total War with Barbarian Invasion and Alexander Expansion Packs
    * Exclusive limited edition content, including:
    * The Total War Story, a 40 minute documentary detailing the past, present and future of the Total War series, featuring exclusive interviews and game footage
    * Exclusive preview material for Medieval 2: Total War, including trailer, game information, screens and artwork
    * Art booklet plucked from the Creative Assembly archives detailing the creation and evolution of the Total War series
    * Glossy A2 poster for Medieval 2: Total War
    * 5 Art cards covering the whole Total War series.
So does this mean that we're getting Alexander on disc as well? Might be best for those with meagre connections. Also, could 23rd June be the tentative release date for Alexander I wonder?

I wonder if the older versions will be upgraded so they work with current video card drivers.

I very much hope Alexander is inlcuded on the disk. Otherwise I won't buy it.

What's the point of buying it though? Seems quite expensive just for an expansion.. and most people already have at least one of the titles, if not all.

True, but it is an amazingly good price for all the TW games if you don't have any. If M2TW attracts new players to the genre, this would be a steal.

Considering I can't play MTW or STW with my video card, an updated version would make this more than worthwhile for me. I'd sure like to hear from CA as to whether that's the case, or whether these are just a repackaging of the same unplayable games.

That is one hellishly clever sales pitch. If you want tho have a physical copy of Alexander ( not download) you must buy the entire set ...again. To complete your collection. I really hate this

Total War: Eras would be worth it for me since I only have Rome and BI.

How do you know that will be the only way?

    "ROME: TOTAL WAR ALEXANDER

Rome: Total War Alexander is the second official expansion pack to Rome: Total War. It represents a first for Sega and the Creative Assembly: online-only digital distribution. Rome: Total War Alexander will offer all the content and new features that Total War players have come to expect from their expansion packs, but for the first time ever, it will be available exclusively for quick and easy download from www.sega.com and www.totalwar.com. No waiting in line. No boxes. No CDs or DVDs. Just point your browser to one of the two sites and begin downloading"

For those without any form of cd or dvd burners then yes that might be a problem, but for the rest of us burning both the downloaded file(s) and whatever it/they expands out into (see Oblivion for hassles people have had when they only backed up the downloaded version of the extra content) should give you that physical copy.

OK it's not as nice as a boxed retail version, but as there isn't a boxed retail version of Alexander, then it hardly matters.

This is neither in support of nor campaigning against digital downloads, btw, just explaining how you get a physical copy.

    Cheers,

    Rob.
