Exclamation Did I waste my time?

Ok, yesterday I came apon a TIMEv0_5 campaign Editor. I made a simple campaign. Then I made a folder in the Data\world\maps\campaign.I started the game up it when't good until I clicked on the campaign to go to the factions screen. Then it chrashed. I whent back to the files and it looks like the map roughness and the trade routes needed to be edited. Did I waste my time or do I just need to edit the or something else??

The TIME editor doesn't do it all for you. There is still stuff that needs doing, and text files that need editing.

You haven't wasted your time....but you haven't done all that needs doing yet either!

Time, although undoubtably very good and useful, is quite buggy and unfinished... my only wish would be that CA had brought out their own campaign editor so that it wasn't necissary and new campaigns could be made easier. when making a new campaign i suggest doing it the old fashioned way of editing the .tgas and text files but it is up to you

    Greendeath,
have you added the text file
    your_campaign_folder_name_regions_and_settlement_names.txt
into data/text (or BI/data/text - if using BI) if you haven't added new province names this can be a renamed copy of
    imperial_campaign_regions_and_settlement_names.txt
    (or barbarian_invasion_regions_and_settlement_names.txt)

missing this file is what normally causes crashes on selecting campaign. Map related crashes normally occur after you have selected the faction.

I think you can get away with plain black map roughness and trade routes so long as they are the right image size.

It did't work Makanyane. I think it is something in the tga. files.

I'm using Bi patched to 1.6 without any radar maps - it doesn't mind not having them but falls over later than your crash if you have them but they are too large.

don't know about version 1.4 (exactly which version are you using and was it vanilla or were any other mods done first?)

Only other thing I can think of that I've had crash before factions selection screen is alterations to leaders traits (VnV files etc).

Exactly what did you do try to change with the TIME editor?

Are you using show_err on your shortcut?
