We have a different approach. We don't wan't to replay history. We want a possibilty to change it within rational and accurate way. Who is important Marius or his reforms? His reforms? Then why stick to Marius? Why not make triggers and set the reforms dyynamic? 30-odd playable factions? Would be nice, but I don't think that they could be represented in such detail that is EB standard. Much of our traits, ancillaries or scripts rely on inter factional relationships. For example If the secondary faction would be Pergamon (wich I presonally would like to play), then your generals could not participate at the olimpics, could not be allied to other factions, could not have a whole set of faction specific skins (or do you think they will have like 10-12 vaiations for the Akontistai, of Peltasts). Of course you can script that the faction specific stuff would work too, but it wouldn't work for us, on some places we are already streching the limits.
I'm glad that people like RTR 7.0 good luck for them, but EB is about detail, background, realism to micro level and huge depth.
