    Default Fastest Mile Time

I was just curious - what is your all-time best mile time? I am currently a sophomore in high school and am nearing the end of my Track season. My personal record for the mile came about two weeks ago at 4:49.1 and I am running the mile again at this Friday's sectional meet, where my goal is to go under 4:43.

I know there have to be some runners in here, what is your best time?

    that was a lie btw.

it should be 22,5 (Volvo of my boss 150 MPH)

Running a mile proably would take me several hours.

That is VERY sad. You are supposed to be able to walk a mile in twelve minutes. That's a confortable walk. I'm sure you guys could do WAY better than severl hours. I know I'm taking it literal, but I know what you mean.

Yea, if all of you ran the times that you said, you would be track all stars. I am a freshman in high school and i run about a 6:15 mile. That is above average for a 15 year old. So if you guys are all you say you are and the age you say u are then you should be track stars and maybe even some olypians.

You've gotta take into account that you have take a break for a snack or two and computer breaks and such plus the fact that I will have to sit down and drink some water a couple of times so if you add that all together that adds up to a couple of hours.

When I use to run it was 5:30. 4:49 is damn impressive though. I think the best on our track and cross country team could do it in around 4:30 something.

Never run miles. Too short . My 6-mile time though is on 27 minutes - depending on the day it can be as much as 25 or a little as 35 - .

Don't remember my best mile but my best two mile for the APFT was 13:30. Not bad for a half a pack a day.

You run 6 miles in 27 minutes? Somehow I doubt that. That is average mile time of 4:30 a mile.

I'm 15 and I can do a 5:37 mile. That is however a score I got when I had tendonitis (sp?) in my hip. Next year I'll do a lot better (assuming tendonitis will not be so bad).

3 miles up, 3 miles down. My measuring device was a car though. I.e. I've driven the distance to make sure its 6 miles. I don't know, maybe on foot I cut corners or something, but that is the time. Add half a mile another 5 minutes if you want. Or maybe I'm just very fit.

If that is your real pace, you should be on the olympic team

I don't have the frame to be a speed runner (averaging around 6 min. per mile) but my endurance 5 mi. is around 27 minutes.

Not really. Back in the day when I tried to join the army and trained really hard, the time I was aiming at for 1 km was 3:30. My pb was 3:10. Another minute and a half for the extra 5-600 m seems reasonable enough... The olympics run the km in under 2:30 so I'm still a whole 40 secs off... And I'm doing my absolute best here....
