That is VERY sad. You are supposed to be able to walk a mile in twelve minutes. That's a confortable walk. I'm sure you guys could do WAY better than severl hours. I know I'm taking it literal, but I know what you mean.Originally Posted by Csar

Yea, if all of you ran the times that you said, you would be track all stars. I am a freshman in high school and i run about a 6:15 mile. That is above average for a 15 year old. So if you guys are all you say you are and the age you say u are then you should be track stars and maybe even some olypians.

I don't do track at my school, but I can get a 5:49 in the mile. At my school, the soccer program as well as the coach is very hard. I play soccer as a freshman in highschool on the varsity line. Because I am a freshman though, I'm in the JV period, because that's where you start as a freshman. I'm 15 and I can still run that time. I'm not even the fastest. A kid who was in the soccer program at my school didn't make any of the teams (varsity or junior varsity), so decided to run track. He said track is easier than soccer, so it doesn't really matter if the purpose of track is running.Originally Posted by bettkicker19
Anyway, I'm sure a couple people have put the wrong times here, as this seems near impossible for some of them, but I'll let you know, I'm not lieing.

Of course track is easier than football, in football you are pretty much sprinting around for 90 minutes, in track events you pace yourself.Originally Posted by Alexanderofmacedon

Actually, I am a distance runner and do both Cross Country and Track. I have been training for about four months now. If I were a track "all-star" I would be running in the low 4:20s. Olympic runners would be below 4:00. As you can see, I'm a far from being close to either of these two times. Twenty seconds is a big hurdle to jump, so to speak.Originally Posted by bettkicker19
You've gotta take into account that you have take a break for a snack or two and computer breaks and such plus the fact that I will have to sit down and drink some water a couple of times so if you add that all together that adds up to a couple of hours.Originally Posted by Alexanderofmacedon
