Excuse me, I'm quite an EB noob seeing as I have always been an avid RTRer, but because I want to know which I personally find best I want to do some research, I'd like to see a faction list too... where can I get it?

Check out the Factions section of the EB website, includes historical info and unit previews for each faction. Note that new factions are coming in the next version apparently, and the Yuezhi are leaving.
