    When I was a child
    I caught a fleeting glimpse
Out of the corner of my eye.
I turned to look but it was gone
I cannot put my finger on it now
    The child is grown,
    The dream is gone.

I believe the Isle of Man isn't part of Britain but the Queen is their Head of State.

The Queen is the Lord of Man (and Duke of Normandy, but that's by-the-by). I think we should make the Isle of Man a Crown Colony... just to ruin that long-running Parliament...

Does anyone actually still speak Manx Gaelic on the Isle of Man?
It was not theirs to reason why,

It was theirs but to do or die.

It wouldn't surprise me if there is or has been a law suit to change either change the name to the "Isle of People" or to produce an equally sized island to be named the "Isle of Woman". Of course, the suit would not originate from anyone on the island, but rather from some group in a dark corner of the world where they have nothing better to do than instigate frivilous legal actions.

Sooner or later someone is going to say its got the oldest continually functioning parliament in the world. So it might as well be me. (The Icelandic althing began earlier but was suspended during Danish occupation).

They also have legal officers known as Deemsters who were originally responsible for memorising Manx Common law (which was known as breast law as it came from their insides). The Deemsters still exist and are still the judges on Man.

Do they still beat miscreants with a bundle of sticks?
There are times I wish they’d just ban everything- baccy and beer, burgers and bangers, and all the rest- once and for all. Instead, they creep forward one apparently tiny step at a time. It’s like being executed with a bacon slicer.
