Default Citadel Total War Demo released

    Our first release
    https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/showthread.php?t=64833

Citadel Total War is a mod for Rome Total War focused on late-Medieval and Renaissance battles. The factions included in the demo are Spanish, Ottoman Turks, Venetians and Knights on Malta. For the time being the team is focused on creating a comprehensive Renaissance battle mod for RTW, with no campaign, but we are eagerly awaiting the release of MTW2, when we will begin a comprhensive campaign and battle mod along the same vein. Due to the time-period that we have chosen the units range from heavily armored Elmetti men at arms, to swift Ottoman Sipahis, and from heavily armored Turkish Serdengecti to flamboyantly dressed halberdiers.

We have a lot of units, factions and music ready to add to Citadel but we have not a scripter that can do it. If you like the demo and want to help us post on official forum.

Check your data files, if you see the citadel file, open her up and copy and paste the info to the data file and you should be good, it worked for me.

Great to see a release (even a partial one) of this mod at last. Certainly a very different feel playing with some serious gunpowder units. Here are some piccies from a custom battle:

Here are the starting positions - Player Spanish (an expeditionary force of some kind it appears, small number of highly trained troops) against AI Ottoman (looks like an Arab tribe - lots of militia and arab cavalry, around a core of janissaries with the only heavy cavalry the general's bodyguard).

The AI Ottoman advances - his troops kicking up great clouds of dust:

The Spanish general charges his heavy cavalry into the leading Arab horsemen:

As the main Ottoman force gets into range, the Spanish musketeers begin to fire - the smoke from their shot eclipsing the sun:

The cavalry clash becomes all the more critical as the Ottoman general intervenes:

However, his Arab horsemen do not have the fortitide to stand and the Ottoman general becomes outflanked and encircled:

Under heavy fire from Spanish muskets and field cannon the Ottoman centre stalls, retreats and then breaks:

Then a Spanish musketeer spots Arab cavalry running around their flank, will their charge hit home before the they can reload?

The Spanish unit disappears in smoke as they reload and release a volley at close range:

Another volley and the light cavalry turn and run:

Victory to Spain! Long live Emperor Charles!

it is obvious that it works for RTW because MTW2 hasn't come
    out yet.

but does it work for BI or RTW

you do not need to delete it methoz, it create a new folder on your Rome (just 50 mb), you can use Rome, BI and Citadel with the same installation, next version probably will be a patch to add further factions/units.

This mod is so cool. I'm anxious to play as the other factions as well.
