Yes it is. It you want to join a PBeM campaign we're setting one up in the 'Campus Martius' subforum under the multiplayer section:

that is completly possible and obviously the player has to select the factions he/she wants to be in the correct order

All right, I figured it out (it always helps to run the file before you start to ask dumb questions )

Let me just stress that choosing a turn order in the script generator alone is not sufficient, you must also change the turn order in descr_strat.txt

somehow I can't run the script, when I press F1 and then press the (?) botton, nothings happens, no advisor pops up. Do any of you know what could be wrong here?

have you put in the line of code into export_descr_advice.txt?

That is very very odd - that's got nothing to do with the script, the advisor should always pop up when you click on any (?). Maybe check the trigger for that advice thread, or try putting the advice level up? I'm not sure really...

I'll just reinstall my game and see if that helps.

hmm, that didn't help either. Is it possible to run the script from another advisor? The one that pops up when you press ESC and then (?), for example?

Yes, just use add the script line to a different entry in export_descr_advice.txt

That's pretty odd, 'cause that doesn't work. When I add the line to another entry and then click on the (?) in-game, the advisor pops up, but I can't click the Show Me How botton.

have you made sure you have generated a script and put the file in C:\Rome - Total War\Data\scripts\show_me ? or something like this?

Thats the only reason I can think of, is that you haven't put the script in the right folder, or you got the address wrong in the script line...

    This is very odd...

I'm not sure, but check if you have ";" in front of lines. Try to remove them, I think game skips those lines.

    Also check if
    Code:
    Trigger 2137_Help_Campaign_Keyboard_Shortcuts_Scroll_Trigger
        WhenToTest ScrollAdviceRequested

        Condition ScrollAdviceRequested help_scroll

        AdviceThread Help_Campaign_Keyboard_Shortcuts_Scroll_Thread 0
has ";" in fornt of lines. Try to remove them. I think this launches that advice.

    Sorry about bad english.

My game keeps crashing right after the game information page, or whatever that thing is, even after re-installing and directly pasting what you wrote to modify into the folder. What am I doing wrong?

NB, n.b., please note – the Latin phrase Nota Bene
NB stands for Nota Bene, it just means please note this...

First post readme updated with this info:

The script generated will be placed in C:\

I feel foolish for asking but, how do I attach files to a PM? I found the file that was saved to the C: drive, what do I do with it, leave it there, or add it to the scripts?

I can't get this to work :( I followed the instructions in the program. I want to do a game with julii and scipii. I type "2" as number of users and the "romans_julii romans_scipii" in the next option. I know it says somthing about using numbers but I am not sure where to find them. It works fine going from julii to scipii but then the game closes when we try and load up after the scipii turn. Using the sample script provided does the same. Works fine for julii and brutii but as soon as I press ctrl-l after the scipii turn (to load back to julii) the game closes down. Any pointers?

for the factions type romans_julii1 romans_scipii3
these numbers are the order in which the come in the descr_strat file.

No that's not right. Just type the faction names in the order they appear in the descr_strat.txt file. Like this. As an example, if I wanted three players - macedon, julii and brutii, I would type

    romans_julii
    romans_brutii
    macedon

    Is that clear?

Some notes, I think the factions have to be playable in descr_strat, this can easily be edited.

oddly I've been able to get the game to run without crashing, and I got victoria to come up so I could start the script, but now it won't transition to the brutii, although when their turn comes up the camera moves to the northwest corner of the map and then comes to the scipii and then I start the turn as the julii. I turned on the show_err thing and I got this message

    https://i42.photobucket.com/albums/e...litz/oddly.jpg

I spelt both romans_julii and romans_brutii correctly so I don't know whats going on.

    Ok this is my scrpit:

;Hot Seat Mod by Myrddraal. Please do NOT edit this script.

    script
    suspend_unscripted_advice true
    suspend_during_battle on

    declare_counter loop
    set_counter loop 0

    monitor_event FactionTurnStart FactionType romans_scipii
    console_command control romans_scipii
    snap_strat_camera 0, 156
    zoom_strat_camera 0.8
    while I_LocalFaction romans_julii
    end_while
    snap_strat_camera 0, 156
    zoom_strat_camera 0.8
    call_object_shortcut strat_ui save_stratmap
    inhibit_camera_input true
    disable_entire_ui
    hide_ui
    end_monitor

    monitor_event FactionTurnStart FactionType romans_julii
    console_command control romans_julii
    snap_strat_camera 0, 156
    zoom_strat_camera 0.8
    while I_LocalFaction romans_scipii
    end_while
    snap_strat_camera 0, 156
    zoom_strat_camera 0.8
    call_object_shortcut strat_ui save_stratmap
    inhibit_camera_input true
    disable_entire_ui
    hide_ui
    end_monitor

    while I_CompareCounter loop = 0
    end_while

This closes the game after I try and load after the scipii turn. Any ideas why?
