I have recently figured out how to make sprites for RTW.

It wasn't very hard, and so i decided to make the missing eb sprites for 0.74, to make the battles in my current makedonian campaign more enjoyable.
At the moment i have done (almost) all missing sprites.
To make things easier they are now in one pack.
new sprites
The pack has to be unzipped into your
EB folder,

there was bug with one hayasdan unit here is the latest corrected

please download it and paste it into your EB\data folder.

What is a sprite?
When you zoom out, your 3d Polygon solidiers will be replayced by 2d textures, these textures are called sprites.

in fact, all the .74 sprites are done.
damn, now i've said that i have to port them for 0.8.

why haven't they been included into .074? It doesen't take very long to make them, and they aren' very big.

i have already done the sprites for all factions except getai, gaul, sweboz, averni, yuehze; at the moment i'm considering if i upload them (have to convert them to .dds first to make them smaller, that takes some time)

i did after the release.
i'd've done them sooner but i had alot of work and final exams to do. along with some bit of private life to take care of.

are there sprite for pahlava too? when i take pictures of battlemap from long distance, some unit appear to be white sprited, it could be nice to have sprite complete for this faction too, thanks bonny.
@proper grander if there are already done sprite for 0.74, why you nice people dont relase an 0.74c version with sprites? it should be very nice for people out there

There are some missing Pahlava sprites.
I want the Getai ones.

just anotherone:
1. If models have different skins (one normal and one merc) for the same faction, like Praetorians and Cohors Evocata (lybian speaman early, late / Liby-Phoenician Infantry early, late....), the game uses the merc sprite for both units. The tga files are different, and the path in the descr_model_batle.txt for both both files are corecct, i checked it again, again and again......
Do you had the same problem, and do you found a solution for that?

i have done them (and iberia, karthadastim, rome, iberia, sauromatae, bactria, too), but i didn't change the tga files to .dds yet (this take some time, after you have converted them,you have to rename all .dds files to .tga.dds manually), and i didn't tested them all (if i had made a typo in the descr_model_battle.txtl, you get CTD's instead of usable sprites)

it's strange i can download it, pheraps you have some problem with filefront, if you have problem again i can upload it with rapidshare.
anyway @bonny: could you be a bit more explicative eheh? what is the difference from the two downloads? and what does it means updated? it means the sprite are completed now?

many people work on EB in all sorts of ways, and it takes a lot of organisation.
sprites are the last priority. the porting is the top priority at the moment.

errrm, that's weird i never saw such a thing.
i am only making one for each unit that all the factions share. colours vary a little bit, that's true, but it's hardly noticable.
above all it takes up less space. there is also a different problem that can my minimalised this way.
some sprites for some units don't work, whereas they do for the same unit for a different faction. when i say they don't work, i mean that they sink into the ground when you zoom out.
we've tried to solve this and had a lot of discussion on this topic, but we couldn't really solve it. many assume that it has something to do with alpha channels IIRC.
if we only use one sprite for every unit we can use one of the ones that work.

IIRC there were some problems with "sunken soldiers" in 1.2 as well, which Player1 fixed with the Bug Fixer. Or is this another problem?

but we've found a way around it now anyway.

I might do some unit cards because many of them are outdated.

Not now, as I have exams.
Bonny ive just installed sprite1 and sprite2 pack on a backup copy of EB, but when i load EB (just in the load screen) it say "generic error: unable to find skeleton 'fs_1h_axeman_big' "
help (id like very much to have those sprites!)
