well since all the series have always had peasant class units and directly referred to as peasants minus STW, what descripton is most needed for these units
Mine would be arrow depletion specialists
and yours?

When a fox kills your chickens, do you kill the pigs for seeing what happened? No you go out and hunt the fox.

who had nearly fought the Dragon of Agnor,
who had nearly stood up to the vicious Chicken of Bristol,

Swords Made of Letters - 1938. The war is looming in France - and Alexandre Reythier does not have much time left to protect his country. A novel set before the war.
A Painted Shield of Honour - 1313. Templar Knights in France are in grave danger. Can they be saved?
It is the unit you're looking for when you want a chain rout to happen!
"Cry, the beloved country, for the unborn child that is the inheritor of our fear. Let him not love the earth too deeply. Let him not laugh too gladly when the water runs through his fingers, nor stand too silent when the setting sun makes red the veld with fire. Let him not be moved when the birds of his land are singing, nor give too much of his heart to a mountain or a valley. For fear will rob him of all if he gives too much."
Cry, the Beloved Country by Alan Paton.
Fresh meat!
I think the attributes "Good at hiding in cities" and "Inspires nearby troops to rout" would be good.
General purpose fodder.
Arrow-sponges was a nice description.
Population size and squalor reducer (in RTW they're good to recruit and sacrifice in battle or move to and disband in another city to keep squalor problems and too fast population growth away).

No difference to me because I intend to disable the recruitment of peasants. While they make a convenient garrison it is just so goddamn annoying seeing them constantly pop up in enemies armies. For the love of god train some better troops!
i hated all the usless rebel peasents so annoying
"It is not so much that we need to be taken out of exile. It is that the exile must be taken out of us."- Lubavitcher Rebbe
"Its a great mitzva to be happy always" Rebbe Nachman of Breslov
We want moshiach now!!
I hope MTW2 skips peasant units and use more authentic rebel and militia units. And that rebels get stronger, but don't pop us quite as often and make the rebellions depend a bit more on behavior of the ruler. Brigands could be removed IMO.

I actually found peasants to be very useful in Rome, if the population grew too high for the settlements development level, I would recruit thousands of these peasants, and send them off to get slaughtered. Cruel, but useful![]()
All i hope they do is at least give these peasants a weapon. I hated the fact that in RTW all they had were pitchforks. The only use they had was to distract the archers. That unit was just a walking pin cushion.
