Default Most difficult to acquire attribute for a general?

I think it is Management. I can get decent generals with plenty of influence, but none of them have anything better than 3 management. I think I should probably build more of those academy things. Will that give him better traits? Or retinues?

What do you think it is?

Oh and also, could someone list for me all the effects of each attribute? I don't know what effect Command (apart from it makes him a better general), Management (" " " " " " " Governer) and Loyalty (" " " " " less likely to defect) have.

Management is allot easier to get than influence. Influence is primarily dependant upon enslavement and teh slave ancilliaries. Management come in bunchs. You really don't need MORE academies. I only have on eor maybe two academies. What you want to do is put most of your young sons wher ethe academy is and let them sit their for a couple turns. The more governors at ann academy, th ebetter more ancilliaries you will pick up. This allows you to move them arround and create a Gov perfect for the task and then ship him out to his destination. At one point at Athens, I had 6-7 governors their. As I picked up ancilliaries, I grouped them as I wanted and shipped them out to govern rich cities.

It is very, very, very easy to get +4 Management if not more, whereas +4 influence from ancilliaries is actually quite difficult.

Probably influence. But if you have good academies and the right temples, they are all pretty easy to get. Of course you also need to focus a lot on development as well.

Loyalty is not something Ive really studied in BI, though.

I´d say management is among the hardest to gat and keep, especially when you´re virtually swimming in money. There´s a lot of vices that counter management, less so for influence, I think. Command is the easiest to get and keep, at least in RTW - I don´t know about BI, but rumor has it getting command stars there is a lot harder.

As for the effects, command stars give you boni in battle, mainly morale, I think, but maybe attack and defense as well. Management increases your cities´ income, Influence increases happiness.

Loyalty in BI, because you can only gain it by having some rare traits or gaining a title. One title maximum per character.

In EB, it would be command by far. Sitting at Athens, one of my characters quickly rocketed up to 10 management and 10 influence. I've yet to get past 5 command with my faction leader, though.

I second to "The Wise" Tiberius.
In fact, loyalty decreases as "time goes by".

Their is also a retinue member who boosts loyalty as well. Some sort of Imperial bodyguard guy.
