Below appears when trying to play and yes map file deleted as per instructions. I don't know where to even begin

oh the same happened to me,

Un install everthing thing.
- Install RTW vanilla
- go to Activison.com look for Rome Total War under PC games. Go to downloads and download Patch 1.2 from THERE. (everywhere else I got 1.2 the game didn't work)
- then install EB and then the EB patch.
- you should be good to go

Thanks. I downloaded the patch off of the Activision Site and everything so far works okay.
