There are far more pressing things to worry about than homoes marrying. Our government is the biggest lot of no-gooders who love to divert our attention away from the real issues. So go ahead, punch it out over gay marriage, see you all in hell.

To be honest and perfectly rude, if you actually care more about your gay neighbors marrying each other than the National Budget or, heck, the War in Iraq, you are really, really having some serious priorities problems, not to mention a pawn of the politicians.

Yes I've read the essay. It is a good essay, outlining why state-by-state approach works. However, my sentiment is that there really is no reason to oppose allowing consenting adults to marry, even though I personally won't benefit either way.

States can decide this crap. It's probate, FFS. And even if you don't like a states answer, then try to change it or move the hell away. I don't want my federal reps to have the excuse to spend "resources" on this crap so they can justify ignoring other stuff for a few terms.

We have gay marriage, its only impact on society seems to be that glamour magazines can print more marriage stories. It's pretty much a none issue, believe me.

Now I do accept that some people feel that gay people shouldn't get married, for whatever reason (although I don't understand it, and the financial point is still rather ridiculous imnsho), but it certainly shouldn't be a main issue. How can you accept more TAXES to keep people from getting married if those taxes weren't really needed, and will probably just serve to make the rich even richer ? How can you rate gay marriage as a more important issue than torture ? I really don't understand how people can think like that.
