While being a fan of Europa Barbarorum myself, I would not recommend it for beginning players. EB is far too difficult for someone who has not mastered the orginal game yet. Also, it is still in beta-phase (but remarkably polished despite this). Still, if you already know the game and are looking for a challenge, Europa Barbarorum is a fine choice.

I've been playing Rome:Total War since it was released

Just because he is a new org. member meaneth not he is an RTW n00b. I was an avid fan of the first EB release long before I joined this forum (in fact i deemed it necessary to join in order to ask some EB-related questions.) Sorry I'f i came across too EB fanatic-like, but i truly believe EB will raise anyones RTW experience far beyond vanilla.
