ive just tried it and no success![]()
Are you sure that
a: that you've got the -show_err thing right
target line in shortcut properties should read ......RomeTW.exe" -show_err
and
b: that you have re-deleted your map.rwm in the campaign folder (and for luck have you deleted the map.rwm in the base folder)
I've tried it under 1.0 which is closest I've got and it's generating error messages when you quit program after kick back to menu, first was couldn't find roman_generals_guard_early (probably 1.0 has different EDU) fixed this then it complained about port at 80, 121. Not sure how to fix that except by trial and error as 1.0 doesn't seem to generate corrected_regions.tga
but this does seem to show that after fixing map_roughness size you should at least be getting error messages (or you've done something 1.2 specifically objects to).

There is a tutorial on how to use the -show_err command properly.
ok i have done the -show_err because its came up before on a unit i created but for sume reason it wont work with the map. Ill try changing descr_strat n have a look at that.
Oh also i downloaded that trivium map editor and the region squares were out by 2 maybe this is why! so how do you resize the map without it mis shaping or the pixles change coulour to a redishy green colour next to the landtiles?
Re: resizing in PaintShopPro you need to select 'pixel resize' from drop down menu in resizing screen. In Photoshop you need to select 'nearest neighbour'.
that will stop the colours merging.
closest way we found to get maps to match (still not neccessarily perfect as I'm not sure anyone knows how the game handles the pesky extra pixel)
is get your map_heights how you want, on spare copy of it resize it to same size as map_regions (as above) and paste it as a new layer into your map_regions. Select all the sea area in the heights layer then with that selection active swap to regions layer and flood fill sea colour into the sea selection, invert selection and paint your regions colours up to edge of inverted selection. When done just delete the heights layer and save.
Check to see if you have a corrected_regions.tga in your RTW.exe level folder
1.3 onwards generates one of these, that effectively does the lining up for you if you copy it into map_regions. 1.0 doesn't - don't know about 1.2.
