Faction victory/defeat/eliminated movies

Do these need to be .wmvs? Can i have them as pics?

Victory, I believe no - they have to be .wmvs as they're hardcoded.

Defeat and eliminated I believe yes as they're defined in descr_event_images.

But all of them are also defined in descr_sm_factions.txt, and they are all referenced there with the .wmv extension, surely i can change that.

Thats good, it means i can set them to be .tgas and save a lot of space as they do not need to be wmvs.

Gah, just found out .tgas don't work, and also that the .wmvs i created using the .tgs are smaller than the .tgas.

Did you make 1 frame .wmvs then? You'll find the quality will be much lower, but probably still good enough that players won't notice.

Yeah 1 frame .wmvs, the quality is lower but the movies only appear rarely so the player won't really notice.

what do you need to make a 1 frame .wrms? (would re-naming a .tga work?) I don't seem to have anything to open, let alone edit .wrms.

Well i've got windows movie maker that allows me to make simple movies, it comes with xp i think, its in accessories.
