It's sure that romans_senate is eliminated, but we use superfactions (other factions, not romans_senate) to control the IA behavior. I guess this is the problem.

The superfactions for other factions are fine. I using brutii slot for Epirus with greek cities as superfactions and no problem arise (so far)

You'll need to remove all entries regarding senate in DS including the core relationship between factions below etc.

As long as there's entries name romans_senate, delete it.
Say: O unbelievers, I serve not what you serve, nor do you serve what I serve, nor shall I serve what you are serving, nor shall you be serving what I serve.
To you your religion, and to me my religion.

There must be other modifications required in other files, because this doesn't work for me.
I've triple checked that senate is not present in descr_strat, but the campaign again CTD.

In any case, at least I have eliminated the incoming senate missions by putting the julii and the senate "at war" in descr_strat. Unfortunately this doesn't prevent the incoming messages about a civil war.

Edit: another annoying effect is that the romans, controlled by human player, cannot attack any neutral or allied faction because (also from an incoming message) lack of popularity.

That's because the senate is still there. When I tried to use senate as counter faction (emerging factions) , I have those sorts messages and even cannot attack Epirus (Brutii). I guess it CTD because there's still romans_senate somewhere in the DS file. Check and delete also in the core attitudes section etc. Totally delete and not just commented it.

If it's still CTD then I believe it's not because of the senate but maybe the names not compatible ?
