Things were getting a bit too close to an actual agreement that would avert war, so Bush and co have decided to hot things up again. No guarantees against US aggression, an unrealistically tight deadline, changed criteria, it's Iraq all over again. The badges for Jews story was exposed as a fake a bit quicker than expected thanks to investigative bloggers, but expect another demonising campaign and equation of the President with America (and hence disagreement with lack of patriotism). Are there elections coming up?

Mr Bolton, who describes himself as “not much a carrots man”, was quick to play down expectations of a dramatic breakthrough and highlighted many of the problems facing the diplomatic process.

“It would be a mistake to think these negotiations are a first step towards some kind of grand bargain [involving US recognition],” he said. “We are only addressing the nuclear issue and stopping their pursuit of nuclear weapons.”

He said US security guarantees for Iran were “not on the table”, and argued instead that regime change could remove a nuclear threat: “Our experience has been that when there is a dramatic change in the life of a country, that’s the most likely point at which they give up nuclear weapons.”

Mr Bolton also voiced doubts that International Atomic Energy Agency inspections would be able to prove that Iran’s programme was purely peaceful, and said that sanctions against Iran if it declined the offer were “a step in the process”. But he also conceded that he could not predict whether the Security Council would back such a measure.

CAMP DAVID, Maryland (Reuters) - President George W. Bush said on Friday that Iran has "weeks not months" to respond to a U.S.-backed offer aimed at containing Iran's nuclear ambitions and said Tehran needs to suspend uranium enrichment.

At a joint news conference with Danish Prime Minister Anders Fogh Rasmussen, Bush said that if Iran does not suspend enrichment, "there must be a consequence."
All I can say is, keep Britain out of it this time.

All I can say is, well George my boy, feel free to just go on over there and punch the Iranian President right in his mouth if you're feelin' froggy. Just don't ask me to come along. I never lost anything in Iran, and I hope to never find anything there either. It is not even on my top ten list of countries that I must visit before I die. If you are feelin' lonesome, take that Zalmy Khalazied fella with you for back up. (Talk about your outsourcing, there is one foreign national on the payroll for you) Have a real nice time, and take Dick with you too.

There is one rock fight that I'd rather not attend.
