I can only speak of people I knew from university who'd been there, and from a random selection of Middle-Eastern muslim students I've met here in the UK. On the other hand, many of the Palestinians I met, here on MA courses, were very, how can I say, 'Westernised', compared to other Muslims, especially the women.
