Default World Cup - Quality of Ref thread

So 5 matches in and I must say the ref and lines men so far have not impressed me.

The only one that has been any where near to correct quality was the T&T ref and he sent a player off.

The worst ref so far IMHO was the IV v Argentina ref. I cant help but wonder where they get these people from.

I found the ref in the Argentina - IC match to be a good one, especially the goal that was denied to Argentina ( 2nd half ). It was off side, but very hard to spot, so it was a good call.

Other than that I haven't really paid too much attention on the refs thus far, but to be honest I haven't seen them blunder yet.

I'm an athiest. I get offended everytime I see a cold, empty room. - MRD

Erm that one was from Belgium. One of them even from my town.

I haven't seen much of the Argentina game. I must say the T&T vs. Sweden however was even tough it was 0-0 a nice game. Perhaps more because of what was outside of the field. The first game, Germany vs Costa Rica was the best when it comes to football tough.

Anyway back on topic: I haven't seen much wrong when it come to the referees. Everybody always complain about them, but it isn't an easy job you know. They don't have the twenty camera's replays and everything. Errare humanum est. Tough I must admit that the referee from the Italy vs Japan (or was it china or Korea?) did a verry bad job. I could beat Italy on my own too with such a referee. But I think it's mostly exagerated. Footballers make so many mistakes but you barely hear anything about that. And when you do it's mostly about what happened in their private lives.

And since when do referees have to impress people, the best one is the referee you didn't notice.
