    Default The tutorial

I think I speak for everyone when I say dont make the tutorial mandatory (You have to do it) like on RTW. I had to reinstall RTW sometimes, and I litteraly got headaches I was soooo bored doing the tutorial again and again (You couldnt do the campaign without going through it).

Just making sure mtw2 doesnt make the mistake...

You could have just edited the preferences text file.

Oh, there were plenty of posts about it I'd assume. How did we know about it? How did everyone else?

Someone didn't read froggys guide did they?

But the point is valid, unlockable factions and the like is consoley, and has no place in serious strategy games like the TW series.
"I request permanent reassignment to the Gallic frontier. Nay, I demand reassignment. Perhaps it is improper to say so, but I refuse to fight against the Greeks or Macedonians any more. Give my command to another, for I cannot, I will not, lead an army into battle against a civilized nation so long as the Gauls survive. I am not the young man I once was, but I swear before Jupiter Optimus Maximus that I shall see a world without Gauls before I take my final breath."

Yes, most players who visit forums have a big chance of finding a work around. But as CA has plentifully stated, we are do not represent the entire TW fanbase and many of them do not frequent forums. For them it will remain a frustrating thing to do. Some may even still be playing with the bright green arrows while they'd rather not to. So I'd rather see CA making all settings in the preference.txt be adjusteable in the Options menu.

You don't need a guide to figure out such a thing !!

And I think CA had limited the first games to the Roman families, because they had so much input, unique traits, and the Senate, which really adds to the account of the game a lot. Compare Spain with the Julii, what campaign will be more exciting? (Considering that the enemy's strength will be the same in both cases)

Let him not laugh too gladly when the water runs through his fingers, nor stand too silent when the setting sun makes red the veld with fire. Let him not be moved when the birds of his land are singing, nor give too much of his heart to a mountain or a valley. For fear will rob him of all if he gives too much."

Not to mention the fact tht the Roman factions play considerably easier for an absolute new player than, say, the Greek Cities.
But the point is valid, I don´t much like being foced to do something a specific way in a game, which is, by the way, the reason why I like the Total War games so much - I can go about managing my empire the way I want to.

You would be surprised how difficult it is for some people to do, in our eyes, simple things. All modders would be rich if they got an euro for each time a player fails to properly install a mod (most of the time requiring only a copy-paste job of a folder).

No forced tutorials. And no forced tutorials with an easy workaround system, like start the tutorial and then exit, or just edit this line of text. Tutorials should always be optional. If they designed a tutorial with a workaround they could have just as easily made the tutorial optional.

Thank you.. Lol! (For making me laugh of course)

Maybe the tutorial is ok to make optional, but the only one of the 3 families thing I like.. Because, if it wasn't their, I'd play with Egypt, Scythia, Armenia and miss the great details and functions playing as a Roman has.
