Rome: Total War runs, but when I press F11, and the shortcuts appear, when I click on the ? button, the "show me how" button is greyed out.

erhhhh. have you taken a look to what you have here...:

Please unzip the rar, there are 2 files inside, the hotseatscript.txt is to be put in the \data\scripts\show_me\ and the export_descr.txt goes to \data

But you dont really need to copy the export_descr.txt it is better if you use your own.
Also: please change that line above in bold to Script scripts\show_me\hotseatscript.txt on your export_advice.txt, it should work now.

I think it only actually works with Rick's file factory files, because they were the ones that the game was started with. Can't actually remember where they were now.

I already put Silver's files in. I will overwrite them with the original. So how do you trigger the original one? Is it F1 then show me how?

Overwrite with my files, silver files dont work, then load the quicksave, next press F1, then ? on top right corner, then show me how button on advisor. Play your turn, end it normally, at ending it should tell you "save succeded" Quit the game and email/share the quicksave file to next player: in your case SilverRusher - Seleucides

I have added the latest script, but rtw still will not load up.

Ok. This is wht worked for me:

-My game didnt loaded either, the cause: bad expot_descr_advice.txt
Solution:

1) I copied an export_descr_advice.txt from an RTW 1.2 vanilla version without the 1.3 and 1.5 patches, if you dont have a 1.2 version, i think you can copy the export_descr_advice.txt from the CD or image directly.

2)I edited the new export_descr_advice.txt in \Data like Mrdrall stipulates to do.

3) Copy mine hotseatscript.txt file into C:\games\RTW\data\scripts\show_me\ (the file should be 6kb, the previous one was 1kb so make sure you have the 6kb version).
