    Default STW-WE question

I just installed WE (WOW those graphics look outdated now!) and am playing the Mongols for the first time.

My initial landing included Light Cav and a bunch of fodd... I mean, Korean Inf/Skirm. I didn't see any Heavy Cav, but figured that they must come in later - not historically accurate, but hey, it adds to gameplay to have to wait for the really cool unit!

Then I read an old thread in STW forum that mentioned getting MHC right off the bat, so now I'm puzzled. Should I be getting Heavy Cav right from the beginning?

I don't recall ever getting MHC right off the bat. It's dependent on how much you plunder though, if you conquer a whole lot you might get them sooner.

Don't dis the Skirmishers btw, those javelins can pack quite a punch. Of course they can't compare to the cavalry, but they can be very useful against yari samurai.

Hello, and welcome to the .org

I second Sasaki's view here, i dont think ive ever seen MHC land straight off the bat, as you put it. For me they dont usually arrive until im progressing towards the halfway point of Japan. Around Yamashiro or in Lord Mori's lands. Perhaps this was implemented to make things a little tougher for the Horde.

Thanks for the replies (and welcomes)!

I played on and did in fact get MHC after beating on the enemy for a while. The phrasing in some of the threads I'd read had me wondering though. . .
