Oh, sweet lord... the same thing is happening.... invalid or corrupted. The landlock one works but the M&N doesn't. I would assume it's something wrong with my unzipper or downloading, but I just downloaded some other zip files and all is well. Any ideas?

Are you using winZip ? If not, download it and try that. The problem might be your unzipper.

Nah, I don't think it's the unzipping program, like I said it works fine with everything else. However, since the landblock files worked and I had the others I just tried it out and it works. The savegame econ posted works too, but again I'm not sure if the M&N mod is the version 1.4. But in any case, it's working now and if I can download the correct version later I will.

Well, that could be. Although it doesn't explain why Landlock one works but the M&N doesn't.

Hope it works out Wonderland, one way or the other.

Yay, this is excellent. With the large unit settings this PBEM is using, I can play with everything turned on highest, so it should make for some fun battle reports and such. I'm ready to join the republic noble senators!

So, are we going to allow a Tribune to command an army or should Wonderland adopt a more experienced character for now?

I guess it depends what you call an "army". I have a teenage Tribune and have fought a couple of battles with a force a little short of a Praetorian army (half a dozen units or so). I would not be too dogmatic about it - the First Consul has to assign Lower House generals to forces as he sees fit. Often the older ones will be more attractive leaders of large forces (IIRC, a legate has a hefty +3 command bonus).

I think Wonderland has a great avatar - sharp and a true Roman - so I don't see a need to switch. He's not that young either (28).

I am happy for you, Wonderland, that you have managed to get your setup up and running. I would be even more pleased if you could verify that you are using the correct version of the M&N mod. The curse of savegame incompatiblity is ever looming over our heads...kindly look into it some more. I am quite prepared to upload the M&N mod seperately tonight so you can compare the files.

EDIT : I second TinCow's views concerning the rules. Let's enforce them in a ruthless Roman manner.

EDIT : I have no problems with tribunes commanding praetorian legions. Not enough generals to go around.
