Thanks Death, I'll install now. FLYdude, indeed a nice report, enjoyed reading it thoroughly.

Bravo, FLYdude! That is an excellent write-up and well done holding together the longest reign we have had in this PBM. As the Republic grows, the job of First Consul will become slower and more onerous, and there is a risk that enthusiasm diminishes. But you have done a great job! Thanks also to the many Lower House members who fought battles under you.

I just tried this, and the game gives this error message: "trait not found in database". I skimmed quickly through some txt files and tried it with "exheir", but with the same result. Did I have to type the character name in capital letters (didn't try that)?

    Yay for diplomacy!

    Regarding the whole Marcus thing:

I am Marcellus Aemilius, a student in Rome. The FAQ says my name is Marcus. The brother who died at Massilia was Manius, an older brother. Hope that clears things up.

Folks, having a bit of a problem with some weird trait issues. One of my family members for some reason got 2 military service counters, one at 9 years one at 7. As a result, all progress is halted and I can't promote him. Also, some of the family members have traits that aren't accurate when refering to former status. For example the one I mentioned has a Former Consul trait when he is still only a Tribune. Another has former General and is stuck at 9 years military experience... Any way to fix this manually?

I've updated the Table of players in the FAQ (and assigned some players to avatars in the Library). Please take a look and check your details are correct.

I have put down Lucjan as being in the lower house and assigned him an avatar but I need confirmation from him (ie that he has installed the mod).

We have one general left and no active players without a general, so if anyone - e.g. with a spy or diplomat - wants him, let me know.

I'm working on it, but this whole rapidshare not letting me download more than one file every 60 minutes because I won't buy a premium account..it's not very rapid. I've only got 2 more to go then I'll install everything and see if it's running correctly.

I have fixed the trait errors in the save game. The next Consul should load the new save that I have uploaded, not the one that FLYdude posted:

    http://www.totalwar.org/patrons/pbm/260sum-fixed.zip

I also took the liberty of adding econ21's honorary office to his new character and I gave a single rank increase to the RomanHero trait for both Lucius Aemilius and Augustus Verginius, the two living family members who have been voted a triumph. Thus the total list of edited characters is:

    Amulius Coruncanius
    Augustus Verginius
    Gaius Rutilius
    Luca Mamilius
    Lucius Aemilius
    Numerius Aureolus
    Publius Pansa

Their Biographies have been updated to their proper status.

In addition, I noticed that I made a few errors on my previous post where I said how to edit the traits. The following is the correct method to edit traits:

To give DDW's characters his 'office' trait:
    give_trait "CHARACTER NAME" "Aedile" 1

To give TinCow's characters his 'office' trait:
    give_trait "CHARACTER NAME" "Censor" 1

To give econ21's characters his 'office' trait:
    give_trait "CHARACTER NAME" "PontifexMaximus" 1

    To remove a disinherited trait:
    give_trait "CHARACTER NAME" "Exheir" 0

    To give a triumph:
    give_trait "CHARACTER NAME" "RomanHero" X
For this trait substitute the following numbers for X depending on the level of Hero you want to give:
    Level 1 - Local Hero - X = 1
    Level 2 - Popular Hero - X = 2
    Level 3 - Roman Hero - X = 3
    Level 4 - National Hero - X = 4
    Level 5 - Legendary Hero - X = 5

ALL LOWER HOUSE MEMBERS. PLEASE MAKE SURE THAT YOU ARE RUNNING THE 1.9.3 VERSION OF THE 4TPY MOD! THESE PROBLEMS WILL CONTINUE TO OCCUR IF YOU USE VERSION 1.9.2.

    Instructions to install 4TPY 1.9.3:

    1) Download 1.9.3 from here.
    2) Extract the files.
    3) Install the mod into your RTRPE 1.5 folder.

A side note to FLYdude - your avatar cannot advance to the next rank when he has two banners. One needs to be given to another character before the new trait will appear.

Aha! The reason he has two banners is that he, for some reason, didn't get rid of his Legion banner when he acquired the Field Army one. I later exchanged the Legion banner with your avatar for the Consular Army banner. The next consul will probably pick up the Consular banner, allowing old Tiberius to hopefully advance. The only problem is that we have more banners than avatars, and the next Consul will have to find someone to dump his Legion banner on (if our next Consul is a Legate).

I have kind of a stupid question... but I wouldn't ask if I didn't think it was doable. Do you guys think I can switch my avatar to the extra family member, Galerius Vatinius? I realize this is hassle to switch the info in the Library and FAQ and for that I'm sorry but if it's possible, I'd appreciate it. Of course, if it's not a good idea, that's no problem.

I'm having a problem with the senate download files. I can't get them to unzip with 7zip or winzip, it tells me the files aren't supported or they're corrupted, but there's no way all the files I downloaded can be corrupt. Is there anywhere else these files are uploaded besides the rapidshare site? Maybe all in one big file instead of 7?

Ahh...k..I'm trying this again..check this out.

    http://wiki.semilog.net/rtw/index.php?MOD

Seems like an odd place to find a complete listing of just about every mod under the sun for rtw...but I won't complain, they're still hosting RTRPE 1.4 and the 1.5 patch, after that I just need to find the met and naval mod version ??? and the landblock..if someone can provide me with the right m&n and landblock downloads it'd be greatly appreciated.

That's strange. Did you use a download accelerator ? It is a single zip file, spanned in several files, so you need only unzip the senate.zip file with the other files with z01, etc, etxtensions in the same folder and it should extract all the files. So select the senate.zip file. Right-click, extract to folder X. Renaming the zip files is a bad idea.

The llinks to M&N and landblock are posted several posts back in this thread.

Tricky Lady, it might not work because you do not have RTR installed. The trait might be called different in vanilla RTW.

I've watched the whole Rome miniseries this weekend, and I enjoyed it immensely, especially the focus on daily life as a Roman. Ironically, the first episode was about a lost eagle

Simon.. I think we need some help in the Senate Delibirations thread..

Should it be motion 9.11 or motion 10.1 ?!

I've renumbered your motions so that we keep the 9.x convention (9th session of Senate). Tonight I'll collect all the motions together in the first post of the thread together with a list of their seconders.

Default Re: The Will of the Senate - out of character thread II

Ok then.. I believe Braden has seconded one of them.. (10.3), but not sure which one.

I think all these motions are getting messed up.. TinCow just seconded motion 19.16 0-i..

Maybe a seperate topic should be made, like a poll to show who seconds and who doesnt..

I fixed my 19.16 reference. It should have been 9.15

We have two Motions 9.8 as well. One needs to be made 9.9.

Just a quick note to say I'm back and ready to fight battles as and when the Senate commands - Greece, Macedon, Thrace, Gaul, (iberia?)

However I will not have the time to run for and play as first consul - we are putting our house on the market this week, Mrs Suribachi will not take kindly to me playing TW for several hours a night and all weekend
"I request permanent reassignment to the Gallic frontier. Nay, I demand reassignment. Perhaps it is improper to say so, but I refuse to fight against the Greeks or Macedonians any more. Give my command to another, for I cannot, I will not, lead an army into battle against a civilized nation so long as the Gauls survive. I am not the young man I once was, but I swear before Jupiter Optimus Maximus that I shall see a world without Gauls before I take my final breath."

Welcome back, Mount Suribachi. Speaking of running for First Consul, do we have anyone interested? It would be good if they could declare early (otherwise the Senate debates may focus on the wrong things).

Mostly because the new character is a lot more dynamic, with more traits and things to work with. He's just come of age so lot's of time for things to unfold and he's in Syracuse which is a good place for his education. My current character is 29, few traits and in the messy Greek theatre without much hope of anything positive happening. These are just my opinions and since I'm new to this, I'd appreciate any comments on whether or not they're warranted. If there are reasons and it's a better idea to stick with ol' Corny, I'll do so happily.

Econ21 - I've got a bit confused by the Motion numbers again. Do any of mine need renumbering now?

BTW - will have a PC again in the next week or so and will be driving towards getting the minefield of Mods installed and WORKING during August.

I still need an optical drive (that doesn't make my system crash) but that shouldn't take long to sort out.

So, fingers crossed, I can join the lower house perhaps before September.

Ok, so far I've got 3/4ths of the mod installed, but I can't seem to find a version of the M&N mod that isn't in that nuisance 3 part winzip file. If anybody can provide me with a one file copy of the M&N mod version we're using I'd greatly appreciate.

Update - I found a one part version of the mn mod but it's version 6.0, compatible with rtr gold, I can't find one for RTRPE, any help, or even somebody e-mailing me a copy of the mn mod for RTRPE would be greatly appreciated.

Update 2 - I've got RTRPE 1.5 and the landblocks to run with no problems. I'm now just stuck until I can get ahold of the correct M&N download in one file, or at least seperate, unlinked zip files. The winzip program doesn't like opening those split files for me, and I'm not fighting with it anymore.

Just a reminder: Make sure you activate the 4TPY mod every time you load a saved game! You activate it by clicking on any city, then clicking on the "Show me how" button in the pop-up advisor. Failing to activate it when you load a saved game can screw up the traits and timeline.
