AFAIK employment isn't really a problem, if you're willing to work 'lower' jobs, unemployment is usually either due to lack of willingness to work (a lot of people hang around for a year or more after HS if they don't go to college) or because they are looking for a 'good' job, in line with their degree. It might be the European mentality of wanting to work for one company for the rest of their lives (if there are still people like that around) that keeps some people from excepting the first job they can get. But really, I don't know anyone who has had any real problems getting a job.

Also if you're going for a higher level job, it might take weeks or even months of interviews/tests before you know wether you're in or not.

The real problem in Europe, imo, is all the old people retiring at 50 and living off the state. Since there are a lot of old people here...
