I invest in the stock market, but as I am in it for the long haul it is not gambling. I don't do short term things as the odds of winning are not great to say the least!

I have blackjack nights with friends, occasionally throw money in the slotmachines and went to the casino 2 times.
Nothing spectaculair, think I've won €200,- in all spread over several years.

I play poker occasionally, not for any real big amounts of money though. I treat the low-scale gambling I do as an activity that is fun...if I lose money, it is a small cost to pay for an enjoyable evening.

silly thing is I can spend well over €50,- just on liquer on a saturdaynight without regretting (well, the next day when I get the headache I do), but when I lose €5,- (in 10 games of €0,50) I can get really frustrated...

However I do place wagers down on several different things spread out through the year.
Twice a year I go to Louisana to do a little Riverboat gambling hitting the Blackjack and Craps tables. Craps has a strange alure for me, I know it will normally end up with me losing - but damn it I just want that "Yo Eleven"...
I also go about once every two monthes to play in a poker tournament - its a lot of fun for very low cost - normally on $50 and I have basically gotten it to pay for itself. ie I can normally place in the money.
And then once a year I try to go to the track to do a little betting on the horses.
All in all - I have made a few dollars gambling over the years - (however I am sure I have lost it back over the years also.)

Play the pass line with odds, and you reduce the house edge to the best odds in all of Vegas. Comes to about a 0.54% house edge. Yep you heard right.
For every $100.00 you put down at the table, you will walk home with $99.46 statistaclly speaking, provided that you never spend the house's money. That means you get to play and drink all night virtually for free.
Once you win back your original playing money in house cash, then feel free to play the field, or the Big 6 Big 8 or hard numbers, but don't touch those until after you win your cash back on the basic passline with odds bet.
PLayed with $600 last time, came home ahead at $680. I would have had more, but I tipped the dealers $25 and played hard tens when ever the button was on it.
Final note: Know your shooters and Know if you are a shooter or not. If you crap out quick twice in a row as the shooter, then just skip the dice when they come your way. Nobody wins if you don't feel your luck as the shooter. Last time I went, I got burned twice up, so I just skipped it. Some random black dude came up and just tore the house to shreds every time he had those dice! I'll never forget this guy. Every time he rolled, he yelled in his gritty Louisina accent, "Comon dice, aaaaaah!!!" Bizarre, but what a shooter.![]()

I really don't see any attraction in gambling at all. I have a paper shredder, could just feed cash into that and get the same reward. Whatever turns you on, I guess.

Play poker with me mates every few months. It's more an excuse for a beer and a curry and a bit of laugh, really. Got one this weekend, Texas Hold'em. My luck often runs good and I usually come away with the most money but that's certainly not fooling me into taking it seriously. I've got no illusions about my poker playing!

The lemur seems to have a talent for cards. Last time I was in a casino, I started playing blackjack with $100, and walked out with $2500. I've never come away from a for-money card game with a loss.
I should probably use this skill more often, but I'm worried my luck/skill won't hold out forever, so I gamble sparingly.
I've done some slots a couple of times. Lost my money and didn't do it again. You can keep gambling, I'll find something else to do.
