Yes, Iraq is peaceful. Go to sleep now. - Adrian II
I invest in the stock market, but as I am in it for the long haul it is not gambling. I don't do short term things as the odds of winning are not great to say the least!
I have a small amount of money in the Premium Bonds as well.

I have blackjack nights with friends, occasionally throw money in the slotmachines and went to the casino 2 times.
Nothing spectaculair, think I've won €200,- in all spread over several years.
Abandon all hope.
A little bit of pitch and toss as a lad, not now tho, and the ocassional poker nights, £10 a person :D

Sports betting, some card games - all small stakes stuff. Although my retirement plan hinges on matching 6 numbers with our Governor's lottery :)
Be well. Do good. Keep in touch.
I play poker occasionally, not for any real big amounts of money though. I treat the low-scale gambling I do as an activity that is fun...if I lose money, it is a small cost to pay for an enjoyable evening.

Do I gamble - every day is a gamble.....
However I do place wagers down on several different things spread out through the year.
Twice a year I go to Louisana to do a little Riverboat gambling hitting the Blackjack and Craps tables. Craps has a strange alure for me, I know it will normally end up with me losing - but damn it I just want that "Yo Eleven"...
I also go about once every two monthes to play in a poker tournament - its a lot of fun for very low cost - normally on $50 and I have basically gotten it to pay for itself. ie I can normally place in the money.
And then once a year I try to go to the track to do a little betting on the horses.
All in all - I have made a few dollars gambling over the years - (however I am sure I have lost it back over the years also.)
O well, seems like 'some' people decide to ruin a perfectly valid threat. Nice going guys... doc bean
i gamble (with my life) every time i step on a plane.
No, although I have made several abortive attempts to understand poker. Maybe one day I will, course then I will have to get good at it, being from Vegas and all.
But the rest of you, you should all at least twice a year come to the magnificent City of Sin and blow lots of cash. You won't regret it, especiall you Kuri. Why bet on the lottery when you can bet on Megabucks instead?

Craps in Vegas at the Casino Royale mid strip. Love it.
Play the pass line with odds, and you reduce the house edge to the best odds in all of Vegas. Comes to about a 0.54% house edge. Yep you heard right.
For every $100.00 you put down at the table, you will walk home with $99.46 statistaclly speaking, provided that you never spend the house's money. That means you get to play and drink all night virtually for free.
Once you win back your original playing money in house cash, then feel free to play the field, or the Big 6 Big 8 or hard numbers, but don't touch those until after you win your cash back on the basic passline with odds bet.
PLayed with $600 last time, came home ahead at $680. I would have had more, but I tipped the dealers $25 and played hard tens when ever the button was on it.
Final note: Know your shooters and Know if you are a shooter or not. If you crap out quick twice in a row as the shooter, then just skip the dice when they come your way. Nobody wins if you don't feel your luck as the shooter. Last time I went, I got burned twice up, so I just skipped it. Some random black dude came up and just tore the house to shreds every time he had those dice! I'll never forget this guy. Every time he rolled, he yelled in his gritty Louisina accent, "Comon dice, aaaaaah!!!" Bizarre, but what a shooter.![]()
You are a good man DA, even if I have never heard of the Casino Royale. Did you go anywhere else while in Vegas? 'The Wynn' has a great buffet.

I guess I'm a disgrace to my genetics, as possibly the only Irishman in history that has never gambled - not even on the gee-gees.
