Would be nice if they remained best friends, so adult over-reaction whould be a pity. A friendship like this does more for good race-relations than the banning of words, however abhorrent.

However, I hope no-one thinks that "white choclate" and "nigga" are equally bad. The fact that there are no equivalents to "nigga" for the white child should tell us which of the two is more likely to experience real racism in later life.

The non white childs parents complained to the police about Racism, the eleven year old white girl has to report to the police station tomorrow to be charged.

The local community, which is 50% white and 50% none-white are trying to get the papers and local MP involved to sort this out.

Hmmmm in that case I am a bit dissapointed, if these black folks complain about racism the police has to seek it out. Why these parents complaint in the first place is beyond me though, if everyone would just stop feeding raci$m by emphasising it's pressence (which is neglectable) it wouldn't be an issue at all.

This is obviously not something the police should be spending their time on (hopefully they'll hear the girl out and decide not to press the charge) but it's understandable that the parents feel insulted.
Both kids should apologize and that should be the end of it in my opinion.

Some words, and this is one, hold a history and a ton of emotion. The white child needs this explaining to her (and perhaps so do you): this should be sufficient.

Agreed. I am interested to know which law has been broken, and whether both children have broken it. It is a shame that the police did not advise the parents to take another course of action. Any chance of these two remaining friends has receded. Disappointing indeed.

The white child would have its name put in the Racist Book, whilst the non-white child would not. Everyone knows non-whites cannot be racist... They have had all their countries' insurmountable riches plundered by the evil fascist white colonial empires, and are fully entitled to seek revenge and retribution for such.

I think one of the issues is that, the racism perpetrated against a white person, wasn't seen as important. Wheras the slur directed against a black person was.

Also kids cannot be labeled "racist", they are far too young and have no idea what they're talking about. They often copy other peoples swear words without knowing the significance, this is no different. How many kids do you see laughing at disabled people? Or pointing at someone with an unusual dress sense. Do we take them down to the cop shop? I think not.

The big difference between many white and black is the tolerance. For example about three weeks ago I was on a bus in the evening when I heard some youths descending the stairs shouting. One of which bellowed "white motherf**kers", followed by "you're all white motherf**kers" back at those still on the bus. I felt slightly offended but did not pull out my phone and call the police, neither did any of the other white people on the bus. A few of the older black people notably a few women actually found this funny. Luckily so did the whites, and basically it was forgotten (I actually only remembered it just now myself). The difference is that if this had been white youths shouting "******" or something similar there would have been a scandal. It may have made the local news. Some black people on the other hand, whom more often than not despise the police and avoid contact with them when a crime occurs within their own communities, don't hesitate to contact the "pigs" if someone has uttered so much of a hint of a racial slur against them or their own. These are not the majority of course, they are just a few taking advantage of the nanny state's current stance on 'racism'.

The main issue of course is that there shouldn't have been any police involvement and the girl shouldn't be reporting to the police. It should have been sorted out by the parents, proving themselves as despisers of racism by dealing with each other as equals. But sadly this is the politically correct, litigatively obsessed society in which we now live.
