Yes I am aware that some so called liberal politicians have taken this "politically correct" aspect to a, dare I say, fascist degree. Punishing people for using certain words is not liberal. Indeed it is a very ironic situation and it has to do with the civil rights movement, which unfortunatly gave birth a new generation of liberals who carry this terrible trait of being capitulationist. Both blacks and whites feel inferior to eachother now, and there seems to be no quick fix for it, except completely ignoring that part of our history and starting fresh. I don't understand the "we must learn from mistakes" garbage. The more we are reminded of this emotion side of side of slave history the more we look at eachother as being "different". The only way to be the same and at the same time be ourselves is to treat eachother the same. All this however is a strange and ironic twist to American liberalism, and is not what real liberalism is about.

I think DA, that you don't realize a lot of the more admirable qualities of the consevative movement in America are in fact based on Liberalism.

Sorry the logical extension of civil rights would be for the girls to be treated equally. This is political correctness, which is an altogether different beast.

Both girls should have been told off by their respective parents and then told to apologise to the other girl. At 11 it is a waste of police resources, the possibly should intervene if neither set of parents can set a good enough example. But if police have to get involved because the parents are incapable of being adults then I would scare the cr@p out of the parents by running the possibility of getting child welfare services involved (just to get them to pull their fingers out and to stop using police resources).

If there was threats of violence from the parents then the cops should be concentrating on the adults (and again swing the idea of them being unsuitable as parents).

I've heard this guy's name before -- usually in the context of those amusing "American Taliban" pages that were cropping up a year ago. This Savage guy clearly has some extreme ideas, so I'm not sure you'd want to peg him as "centrist-to-conservative." Maybe "ubercon-to-wingnut" might be a better spectrum.

He's definitely on the wingnut end of the spectrum. His real name is Michael Weiner. Apparently he's ashamed to be Jewish. As Weiner, he's written many books. He started writing about tribal medicines (his field of study was ethnobotany and anthropology), then he had some kind of nervous breakdown and went off the deep end. His later books, as he was also morphing into the nutcase he is today, were all about homeopathic medicine and herbal cures for things like Alzheimers. A real nut job this guy. Under one name he pushes homeopathic cures for everything under the sun, and under another name he rants and raves and drools from the far right end of the political spectrum. I wonder how many machine gun-toting backwoods rednecks reading his Savage persona books know that he's selling books under the Weiner name to patchouli-scented hippies looking for that perfect herbal cure, and vice versa.

Why ? Are they going to put her in jail ? Re-education ? No, she just had to go to the police station, the kids will probably make up some day.

Besides, the non-white parents were of course, being quite stupid, but what about the cops ? Isn't part of their job to restore order ? They should have seen this 11y old girl and told her what she did was wrong, there was no reason to threat her like they did. They're not robots bound to follow to law to its every letter, they are humans and should possess decent judgement, if they were fit for their kind of work

Maybe he isn't a wingnut, just a very brilliant writer who writes for his target audience. His books may not be editorial or based on his personal beliefs, just print for people who will buy them.

At least here blacks have the same rights, so they should just stop complaining 'owww we are so disciminatut' because it's very annoying.
