What of 1453? as i have already stated, my knowledge of this period is weak so im learning as i go here. Which would be more prominent for my start date?? I'll include both as playable factions if possible but i need a top 20 and a potential 10 at the moment.

I just want to refer that said austo-hungarians is like said english-irish;-)

her is some important date from this time
    (I'm not a historian only a hungarian;-)

    prolog:
    1443 John Hunyadi (hungarian noble)
start a campaign to rout out the turkish from europa
but at 1444 (at Várna) the hungarian king killed in a battle
and the army (the remains) have to reteat

    1453
    the pope proclaim a crusade
send priest Kapisztán János (Giovanni da Capistrano) to recruit a troop
    but
at 1956 II Mehmed reach "Nándorfehérvár" (Beograd)
Mehmed has got 150 000 soldiers, 300 cannon, 200 ship
the another side there are only John Hunyadi with his own soldiers
    and we won...

(but by a plague after the broken siege Hunyadi died)

His elder son was executed after his death
but younger son was saved and the nobels (gentry) acclaim him to King
    His name was Mátyás Hunyadi
    Matthias Corvinus
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Matthia...nus_of_Hungary

"Matthias gained independence of and power over the barons by dividing them, and by raising a large royal army (fekete sereg or Black Army) of mercenaries, whose main force included the remnants of the Hussites in the Czech lands. At this time Hungary reached its greatest territorial extent of the epoch (present-day southeastern Germany in the west, Dalmatia in the south, Bulgaria in the east, and Poland in the north).

He was victorious against the Ottoman Empire, both in beating back attacks and starting smaller campaigns of retaliation: 1463-64 in Bosnia, 1475 in Southern Hungary, 1479-83 in Transylvania, Wallachia, Serbia, and Bosnia; and in 1481 he send a contingent to help in the retaking of the Tarentine port Otranto. Like his father, Matthias desired to strengthen the Kingdom of Hungary to the point where it became the foremost regional power and overlord, strong enough to push back the Ottomans; toward that end he deemed necessary the conquering of large parts of the Holy Roman Empire. Until his death in 1490, Matthias Corvinus gained control of Moravia, Silesia, Lusatia (these in 1468/1469/1479-1490), and half of present-day Austria (1477/1483-1491); he even ruled from Vienna after 1485."

after his death (may killed by his enemies)
throne is occupied by weak rulers and
at 1521 I Szulejmán Sultan attacked the hungarians
and at 1526 (Mohács) Szulejman detroyed the hungarian main army
(at this time the hungarian's greatest warrior was a priest called Tomori Pál)

after this the country fallen into pieces and the hungarians has to fight with the austrish and the turkish too...

There are many brave man in Matthias' Balck Army like Pál Kinizsi (he ride on a black horse and his favorite weapon was the two handed sword, usually one in each hand;-))

I hope it is a helpful information for your mod!

Hey all. I would be interested in doing a bit of historical research for this if you're interested. I'm currently doing an A-level (the exams after compulsory education and before university (for anyone not from the U.K.)) in early modern history so I've just finished looking at Henry VIII, Louis XiV, and the English Civil War. Next school year I'm studying the Mid-Tudor crisis, Elizabeth I, and the Golden Age of Spain. Basically my mind is currently on the renaissance, which I'm interested in anyway, so it wouldn't be hard for me to read around the subject a little more and contribute to this mod if it makes it to development.

    Just a thought .

Did you guys ever make the campaign map? The one covering the whole world (from when this mod was supposed to be a RTW mod). Because if you did and it actually works (it shouldn't be possible due to the landmass ratio) I would really like to take a look at it and mabe use it to a minimod of mine. If thats ok though.
