Actually no, Ceasar010. Just in general, people focusing on a coming religious end-of-the-world tend not to worry about real things that could actually end the world, or at least end life of humans. And in the case of the things we could actually do something about, like abrupt climate change from human-activity related global warming or polluting the oceans and such, the true believers don't care enough to affect the necessary changes which could stop these things from happening. And then it ends up becoming a self-fulfilling prophecy. Believing in the Apocalypse is fine, but helping it come about through inaction seems rather irreligious to me.
Oh, and I don't think you're crazy. Misguided maybe, or perhaps uninformed and unscientificl but not crazy. Crazy people are the ones who know better and cause problems anyway, like the "scientists" funded by the oil companies who, just for greed, cast just enough doubt on real science through bad logic and bad science to allow the true believers to ignore reality.
