    Default BKB Alexander Mini Mod

Here is a small mod for Alexander which I made. Its nothing special, so don't expect something like RTR or EB. Here's the features:

    * India and the Hellenic League have been added to the campaign, and you can now play as Persia and the Barbarian factions.
    * Reworked campaign - a lot harder and more hectic now I feel.
    * India have new names and the traces of Egypt have been removed (no more Pharoahs mentioned in the descriptions, and I used Hindu gods for the shrines).
    * 9 new provinces added, including ones to the Balkans, Arabia, Africa and India.
    * Units brought over from the original Rome game.
    * Slight changes to the strategy map, including new character pieces and different colours for the Barbarian factions.
    * All factions now available for custom battles.
    * Campaign longer and death of Alexander doesn't end it.

Yeah that's about it, as I said nothing great but it took some time to put together so I hope you enjoy it. And don't expect full balancing - for instance its really easy for Persia for obvious reasons but their economy is surely impossible to stabilize and make the game fair at the same time.

As I said simple is the key. Its stable (as far as I'm aware) and its fun, and that's the important thing. I don't care if a certain city is not where it should be, or if the name is wrong, but I think its mostly accurate anyway where possible. And if I'm wrong about the Hindu names and Gods, I'm really sorry if I offend anyone I just kind of got them off the Internet in order to make the faction seem a little bit more unique. As you can imagine I'm not an expert on the subject.

Known issues which may be corrected in the future:

    * No new descriptions and victory conditions pics for added factions - all just use Macedon's for the time being. If someone could do these that would be great.
    * India have Persian portraits
    * India still called India, meant to change name, possibly to Punjab, will fix.
    * India can build Catapult Range and beyond; will also fix.
    * India possibly can train peasants - if true please don't, you're not meant to.

I think that's all, but left me know if there are any other major problems you encounter. Anyone here's the link. I know its not great but please bear with it as I'm trying to get it uploaded somewhere faster so if you could make do with this for the time being it should be a lot quicker later:

Again I hope you enjoy it. Install it into your 'Alexander' folder. You may well need to delete the 'map.rwm' file first. Thanks.

You can now get a small patch for this mod which corrects/adds the following things:

    * India can't build catapult range and anything higher now so they always keep archer units.
    * Province of India renamed
    * Peasants now can no longer be trained
    * All mines now generate revenue
    * India are now able to build Circus Maximus, and hence Elephants.
    * Barbarian units have proper upkeeps
    * Illyrian Warrior tga included for those having problems with it.
    * Hephaeiston added for Macedon with new trait added (ahem)

Here it is, its only small but corrects most of the faults mentioned:

It requires a manual install but I've laid the folders out in the order the files should go in so you shouldn't find it too difficult.

Is this mod in it's own folder, or do i have to edit my files to install it?

If its the second, thats really inconvenient as im using the original download version, no the disc one.

Use -show_err at the end of the RTW shortcut:

    "C:/Program Files...RomeTW.exe" -show_err

Run the mod.It wont work, but this have to show you an error when you exit.Tell us the error.

    Hi Thracian_hero,
The esteemed Caius Flaminius' suggestion, is that you place "-show_err" on the end of your shortcut to Alexander.

To do this simply right-click on your shortcut and add to the "Target" path - " -show_err". I'm sorry I can't be more specific about this, but I'm sorry to say that I'm not familiar with Alexander, my sincere appologies. After that, report the error message given within this thread and one of the brilliant modding people may be able to resolve your horrible problem.

    Hope this helps, cheers!

It's generated by Rome when a campaign is started and contains info necessary for that game; changes mean it may reference wrong things, thus it needs to be deleted so a new one is generated.
