No... that cannot be freakin' real.
What's the problem with it exactly? That it sounds like something funny in English? Panta in Greek almost sounds exactly the same (and in modern greek I think it sounds even more like "panda"), but it means something else of course. It's just a consonant, vowel, double-consonant, vowel. Basically the core of a word just like all Indo-European words, with a case ending or something like that on it.
Lol... and speaking of lol I found a spy while playing a Carthaginian campaign with the name "Juba lol". Was that a joke too?

His... name... is Panda. Panda. I don't care if you can historically prove that name existed. That's... it's... it... PANDA!Originally Posted by Teleklos Archelaou
If you could historically prove that the names "Naughtius Maximus" and "Biggus Dickus" existed, and that they meant something completely different than what they sound like, it wouldn't make them any worse.

Is this in vanilla or only the mod?
If in vanilla then it is named after one of the developers nick names...
I have to say, that the name "The Handsome Viking" is a proof of THV`s sense of humour.. I remember, when I saw it first, it really made me laugh....![]()
O.k., back to topic, well, Cpt. Panda ain`t that bad...reminds me of the South Park episode with the sexual harrasement panda...

Swords Made of Letters - 1938. The war is looming in France - and Alexandre Reythier does not have much time left to protect his country. A novel set before the war.
A Painted Shield of Honour - 1313. Templar Knights in France are in grave danger. Can they be saved?
Does panda mean something else in English apart from the obvious,
that I'm unaware of? If not, what is so funny then?![]()
Captain Panda...hmmm...
That almost as funny as that rapscallious pirate of Vanilla fame:
