Problem re-installing RTW

It gets to about 3 notches done. Then freezes when installing voice1.dat

I've cleaned the cd and tried several times.

Is there anything I can do or am I completely screwed.

Is there no tech-help for our Modetorial friend?

I was thinking of one of those Disc Doctor devices, where a thin layer of the CD surface coating is removed (and hopefully the scratch along with it). Costs about the same price as game, but if you use it twice and it works you're in the black.

Anyone have any other ideas?

Is it a cd problem? Copy the contents to the harddrive and install it from there.

Thanks for the tip. I tried it and got another error:

Cannot Copy sndsOne: Data error (cyclic redundancy check)

sndsOne is a .cab file

I could copy the lot to my harddrive without any problems. You might have a scratch/smudged disk.

This is definitely a badly copied or scratched cd problem, Myrddraal. Solution seems pricy.
