Thread: building morale bonus?

  1. #1

    Default building morale bonus?

so you get +1 for a church, +2 for a monestary and +3 for a Cathederal. Does this meen that the troops in such a province will get the total of all the buildings, +6 or just The plus +3 for the cathederal?

Let's not forget that morale bonus will increase your units "staying power". By that I mean how long your units will stay on the field when the battle is going against them. Units won't rout as easily, and are alot less likely to tuck tail and run when they get pinned, flanked, suffer bowfire, or any of the other morale crushing actions the enemy will inflict on your units.

That is not to say they won't flee, it's just units with high morale take longer to do it.

There's some wierd thing about the morale and the display I haven't fully figured out yet.

    Church (+1) = 2 morale
    Church (+1) + monastery (+1) = 4 morale
    Church (+1) + monastery (+1) + reliquary (+2) = 6 morale
    Church (+1) + monastery (+1) + reliquary (+2) + cathedral (+3) = 6 morale

I think it was a more through post about how the mix of these buildings affected morale a while ago.
We are all aware that the senses can be deceived, the eyes fooled. But how can we be sure our senses are not being deceived at any particular time, or even all the time? Might I just be a brain in a tank somewhere, tricked all my life into believing in the events of this world by some insane computer? And does my life gain or lose meaning based on my reaction to such solipsism?

Someone posted about this in the EH a month ago. According to his calculations, units receive the morale bonus of the building (and only of that building) that gives the highest bonus, multiplied by two. However, his observations do not tally with Ironside's. You can find his thread here.

He's right, appearently I must have mixed some numbers up.

I'm guessing that I'm starting to get bonus valour on the troops. Fresh CS with reliquary starts with 6, but only because of that master spearmaker. Not sure how I did get to 4 for monastery though. Logical leap perhaps? 2->?->6 ---> 2->4->6.

Does anyone know how this all works out for Muslim morale buildings? Mosque, Ribbat, Grand Mosque, etc. Not that I'm playing a Muslim faction as we speak, or anything

I though for all religions the morale bonus was:

the building with the highest morale bonus x 2.

I'm not sure. It seems like all the testing was done on Catho buildings I was just wondering if someone knew the same held true for the Muslim ones.
