Hello All, I do hate to come into a forum screaming for help and the like but well thats the main reason I have come here. You see I have recently wanted to play Shogun Total War Warlord edtion, and I have had it for a long long time installed on my system and never had a problem with it till last week.
I tried to play Shogun Total War Warlord Edition and put in the disk opened the game it claimed the game was not in the drive so I re-installed and it worked.
Well after playing for about an hour and doing rather well if I do say so, The game magicaly froze and I had to manualy turn the system off. Well now then it seems to be pretty consistent when I am playing I have a set amount of time to play before the game tells me I can play no more nor load the auto save back to where it froze as it will freeze again.
Now I have tried unistalling and re-installing and the problem persists, I have used the update patch which caused me to loose the ability to choose anything other than campaign mode. None of it prevents the issue.
Now for the system specs. I am running Windows XP professional Sp2, all updates up to date, an AMD Athalon 1.7 gig processor, 512 MB Ram, Via/S3G UniChrome IGP 64 MB on board graphics processor. Odd aspect is a process that is running in the backround that I cannot identify is "~EF7194.tmp"
After finding that file and doing some searches I found in essence diddly that helped in the effort to save the game. So I went to TWcenter.net who happened to have mentioned in a help thread for RTW to add -show_err to the shortcut target and this is what I got :
Invalid Command Line "-"
Invalid Command Line "o"
Invalid Command Line "w"
Invalid Command Line "_"
Resolution Values 0-7
I have no clue what all that means except that there is an error somewhere. I hope someone here can help me, theres nothing worse than trying to crush the teal guy for his assassins and having it freeze before the critical battle.
