    Default Happy Tynwald Day!

As it is officially 5th July here, I'd like to proudly say Happy Tynwald day to y'all.
Tynwald day is the Isle of Man's National Day, a day off for all of our school students and the day where the Isle of Man Government (Tynwald) pronounces its new laws.

So sit back, pour a glass of wine and think of tail-less cats and motorbikes
    When I was a child
    I caught a fleeting glimpse
Out of the corner of my eye.
I turned to look but it was gone
I cannot put my finger on it now
    The child is grown,
    The dream is gone.
    I have become comfortably numb...

A day where the government pronounces its new laws? Sounds good enough for me to celebrate.

    Cheers!

Well, Happy Tynwald Day to you too! Umm, do they still get a white horse drunk and then kill their king on the Isle of Man? Or did I really just mangle that whole story up altogether? I must admit I always admired the idea of killing your king and getting a horse drunk. I'd be saddened to discover I had it all wrong. Seems so appropriate, somehow.

Oh I wish they did, that would make it so much more exciting dont you think?
Anyway, the ceremony is currently going on now, this is when they make all the laws etc, but that incredibly boring as the speak it all not only in english, but then in manx
So me and my friends are going around 4 o clock to watch some live manx bands and other entertainment.

Hey Ian, are Backdoor Slam playing? And where is it?

As for the Tynwald ceremony, yeah it's really boring. And no horses get drunk.
