My understanding of the -ian command is that is allows you to switch between factions during campaign play.

So you could make a move as the English and then switch to the French and make the French moves.

Quite good when you want to play multiplayer campaigns and pass the save file around your group.

Only problem is that the AI seems to mess things up a little and sometimes cancels your commands for previous factions.

Shrike, the commands such as "H" or "G" only work on the campaign map, not in battles.
