    Default Musical Guilty Pleasures

Judging by the what are you listening to know thread, I'm sure that the patrons of the org have a slightly higher taste in music than the average American, but everybody has that one song they wouldn't get caught listening to, yet they still listen to it. These songs/albums/artists are known as musical guilty pleasures, and I think it's time that the patrons of the org revealed theirs.

I'll start off by saying, I hate sappy patriotic music, yet I've listened to Toby Keith's, American Soldier 56 times in the last three weeks. This is one of those songs I'll only listen to if my window is closed and the door is locked, thats how embarassed I would be if people heard me listening to this song.

I listen to just about every kind of music, with the possible exception of Norwegian death metal and jug bands. So there's a wide swath of music about which I can be embarrassed. What's the cheesiest, most pathetic thing ...

Ah, I know. Even though there's nothing more pathetic than a middle-aged white guy listening to rap, I do enjoy it sometimes. And I'm sufficiently mortified that I only do it in private. So if you see a white dude in a gray sedan bopping his head, it just might be Lemur listening to Old Dirty Bastard's Got Your Money.

I have "in the jungle" on my computer..
and Walking on Sunshine is fast becoming my anthem
    When I was a child
    I caught a fleeting glimpse
Out of the corner of my eye.
I turned to look but it was gone
I cannot put my finger on it now
    The child is grown,
    The dream is gone.
    I have become comfortably numb...

I listen to many kinds of music, but I avoid many also. I don't like : Punk, Heavy Metal, Norwegian Death Metal( ), Hard Rock Hallelujah, Gospel(sheesh, that makes me sick), Jazzy, Old European Love Songs....

I listen to all types except those. Rob Zombie, FC Kahuna, Petey Pablo, Lil Jon & The Eastside Boyz, Ludacris, Snoop Dogg, Usher, Alicia Keys, Mary J Blige, Frank Sinatra, Nat King Cole, Christina Aguilera, Paris Hilton(joking)....

I knew I couldn't possibly be the only orgah with that on my pc !

Other than that I try to avoid rap, or hip-hop or any one hit wonder american pop band.

I can't really remember a song that, judging by the above, I should have hated but where I didn't turn of the radio/tv immediately...

Blame my mum. When I was a kid, she used to play this, Queen & Meat Loaf at full volume when she was doing the housework, so I grew up listening to this.

Of American music, hmm...I once overheard my brother listening to "More Than a Feeling" by Boston- I think. I actually liked the song, though I thought it was so campy. Especially for me, I was always the hardcore American/British Punk listener of all the neighborhood/Family/Possibly Country.

I listen to Rage Against The Machine sometimes. Can't understand their accents properly though, probably for the best. Some of their stuff sounds good enough to let it occasionally come up, some is dire.

It is for me. My up-and-front favorites are such bands as Jefferson Airplane, the Doors, Hendrix, Syd Barrett and the Pink Floyd, Iron Butterfly... Zeppelin is just such a generic stoner band.
