That's just luck of the draw, there. The only problem I have with that, is that the game only allows for one possible marriage per turn, no matter how many eligable daughters there are. I've had situations where I had ten unmarried daughters all of whom were old enough, and the game would only provide one potential suitor every few turns. The first few got married; the rest turned into spinsters because they got old before the game gave them a chance to get married. It should make the check for every possible daughter; it only checks for the oldest.
Age and treachery will defeat youth and skill every time.

Yes that's the problem too. Lately only those old hags get maried. And then when I saw that a very strong family member maried only in his 54 year I wanted to scream!
It seems that in this campain conquest won't be the problem. Havingy and heirs will.

I thought the chances of getting a son were directly linked to the number of cities versus existing family members that you have...

I am pretty certain I saw two sons get married in the same turn.

I have seen comment that married geenerals of the right age will have more chance of children if they are governors.

I think its not so much that they are governors than that they are in a city (instead of being out in the field).

what if its a garrison commander for a fort perhaps. i wonder if the game sees this as the same as one in a city.
