Whoa, AoM, you're only interested in Nazi artifacts?

Yeah. I'm more fascinated with German culture than any other country, hence my title. I'm NOT a neo-nazi, I just find them more fun to collect and more interesting, not to mention they're worth more.

    EDIT: NOT A NEO-NAZI!!!...bad typo...

Sorry, but collecting Nazi memorabilia is plain creepy and fetishistic.

I agree with BQ, although I thought he may have been the Irish priest from Father Ted with the Nazi war criminal and collection of Nazi regalia in his back room!

Think what you'd like, but there are 12,000 people from the USA and UK mostly who seem to love it..

I'm not expecting you to understand, but call it creepy or fetishistic.

I don't care how many people are into it, I still find it disturbing. Sure, all 12,000 aren't nazi-wannabees, but Capo & PJ show the disturbing mind-set of some nazi-fetishists.
"I request permanent reassignment to the Gallic frontier. Nay, I demand reassignment. Perhaps it is improper to say so, but I refuse to fight against the Greeks or Macedonians any more. Give my command to another, for I cannot, I will not, lead an army into battle against a civilized nation so long as the Gauls survive. I am not the young man I once was, but I swear before Jupiter Optimus Maximus that I shall see a world without Gauls before I take my final breath."

German military culture or normal German culture, eg Currywurst's and all?

Wow AoM that's easily the winner of the years worst typo award. Glad we sorted it though.

As the proud owner of a 1959 Daimler Ferret scout car I come across a lot of militaria being advertised in my continual quest for spare parts (usually oil seals ). And whereas it is OBVIOUSLY perfectly normal to own a military vehicle, I've never seen why anyone would want to collect NAAFI teaspoons or what have you. I'll tell you want, the people you meet at militaria shows are bloody odd. And the ones who dress up in uniforms are plain scary.

Most of it I guess is just horses for courses, but Nazi stuff I am afraid I just don't get at all.

(In case you are wondering why I bought an armoured car, the answer I alwasy give is that I got sick of being cut up on my motorbike and wanted something with a bit more road presence. The real answer is that they are quite cheap and good fun, if you like a bit of spannering. Its even been on a picket line, and we have "Official RMT Picket" posters in one of the equipment bins. You can't do that with a medal.)
