    Default Huge Problem, Please Help

Hello all, First off fantastic mod and I cant wait to begin playing again.
Well here goes, about a week ago I woke to find my RTW disc broken inside my disc drive, dont know how the hell that happened but anyway. I went and purchased a new copy, though I think it was a very old copy, a sega version, not activision.

So I install the game, install the 1.2 patch, the EB 7.2 and the EB 7.4. I try to play and it wont even load. I go back to the start window and its says Error: Filename doesn't exist: éÖã?□".

Im no computer genius but im sure Im doing everything right. Before I load EB i try the game out and go thru the prologue, everything seems fine. Then I load EB and give it a try and all it does is go to the main screen and sit there, basically giving the impression that its going to work, but I ctrl-alt out of it and it says the file doesnt exist. Ive tried reinstalling over 5 times with the same results. One thing I have noticed is that with this new copy it installs the game completely different from my other version. Should I re download the EB patches, which I dont think would work, but then again who knows. Im struggling with this cause it makes no sense to me. Please help as I cant play my favorite game anymore and that hurts.

    Thanks in advance
    HC

i would think this is a new copy.

SEGA is the publisher now (at least since RTW: Barbarian Invasion addon)

perhaps you bought Rome Total War Gold.
i think this is already version 1.3/1.4....
so the install of patch 1.2 might have the files corrupted.

other thing is, that PERHAPS with Gold/1.3/1.4 and up, EB won´t work.

but i´m not sure, as your information isn´t precise enough.
